The Chinese company Zeekr announced the launch of its electric sedan, Zeekr 007, equipped with an 800-volt charging system and has a driving range of up to 870 kilometers.
The Zeekr 007 belongs to the mid-sized sedan category and is built on the PMA2+ platform. The car is distinguished by its dimensions, which include a length of 4865 mm, a width of 1900 mm, a height of 1450 mm, and a wheelbase of 2928 mm. The new design of the car bears the theme of “hidden energy,” and was created by Stefan Sielaff, who previously worked as a designer at Bentley and currently holds the position of Vice President of Global Design at Geely, which owns the Zeker brand.
The Zeekr 007 uses an advanced internal battery designed by Zeekr, dubbed the “Golden Battery.” This battery has a capacity of 75 kWh and is made of lithium iron phosphate, and it offers a driving range of up to 688 kilometers.
The Zeekr 007 includes a powerful rear motor with a capacity of 415 horsepower. The car offers two transmission options: the first is rear-wheel drive with an engine with a power of 415 horsepower and a torque of 440 Newton metres, and the second is a four-wheel drive system that includes an additional front engine with a power of 221 horsepower. This combination delivers a total power of 637 hp and torque of 710 Nm.
Zeekr 007 is distinguished by its ability to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. Regarding the all-wheel drive version of the car, it is able to achieve the same acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in a shorter time of 2.84 seconds.
Thanks to the advanced “golden battery”, Zeekr 007 is able to charge the battery at high speed, as it can charge enough to cover a distance of up to 500 kilometers in just 15 minutes. This performance comes thanks to a charging power of up to 500 kilowatts and a charging rate that reaches a peak at 4.5 degrees Celsius.
On the outside, the Zeekr 007 is equipped with a giant 90-inch LCD screen, used to display messages to drivers and pedestrians. The vehicle also enables the driver to communicate with pedestrians or emit pre-programmed sounds via the built-in speaker.
Inside the cabin, 007 relies on the Zeekr OS 6.0 system, which includes a 35.5-inch AR-HUD screen, a 15.05-inch rotating LCD screen, in addition to 21 speakers.
Zeekr has announced that its car will be the first mass-produced car to include satellite communication technologies. The car is also equipped with the latest ADAS driver assistance systems, and includes the Zeekr Pilot highway navigation system.
The Zeekr 007 contains a variety of sensors, including radars and 12 high-resolution cameras, as well as 5 mm shortwave radars and 12 ultrasonic radars.
Car prices start from 29,555 US dollars and reach 42,200 dollars, and delivery of the car began on January 1 after the start of mass production last week.
